The province is home to a variety of food companies that combine the historical traditions of their trade with cutting edge technology to drive the production of food forward.
The food industry employs 14.000 people across 900 companies. Their expertise ranges from bread and pastry baking, chocolate and sugar production to meat production and processing. A few leading companies are Lotus Biscoff, Guylian and Vandemoortele
